Doherty Machine began in 1979 manufacturing CNC billet products for Harley Davidson(reg) motorcycles. And is inarguablely the first company to mass produce aftermarket billet products for Harley Davidson(reg).

As Doherty Machine products began to be essentially copied by other companies within the industry and combined with the recession of the 1980's, Tim Doherty downsided his product line and began to develop racing products for himself and other companies.

Today, Tim continues to perform research and development for Doherty Machine and other companies, never straying away from quality performance product development. His experience in racing and engine development dates back to the early 1960's.

Tim has successful ventured into AMA pro racing, sprint cars, and midgets. His most recent endevour is of the further development of the Harley Davidson V-Rod Revolution engine. Doherty Machine currently owns the world's fastest Harley Davidson V-Rod motorcycle at a speed of 207+ MPH set at the Bonniville Salt Flats, Utah in August 2010.
